Establish the requirement before the design
Child-resistant and tamper-evident requirements differ between markets, and so do warning text, its share of the pack face, and what may appear alongside it. A pack designed for one market frequently cannot be sold in another without a reprint.
Tell us the markets and the requirement as your regulator states it. We reserve and build to it; establishing what applies to your product is yours and your compliance adviser's, not ours.
Where markets differ enough, separate artwork versions are usually cheaper than one pack compromised to satisfy all of them.
Child-resistant construction, in board and in film
Child resistance and tamper evidence are different requirements solved by different features, and satisfying one does not satisfy the other. Plenty of packs get specified as though they are the same thing.

E-liquid is a bottle problem
A 10 ml bottle with a child-resistant cap is taller and wider than the bottle alone, and the cap is the widest point. A carton sized to the bottle will not close over the assembled unit — the same mistake that recurs across our essential oil carton notes.
Send an assembled bottle with its cap and any nozzle fitted. That, plus the leaflet if there is one, is what the carton is built around.
Devices are electronics in a regulated pack
- A device has a battery, which brings its own transport and marking requirements.
- It needs a cradle so contacts and coils are not damaged in transit.
- Accessories and cables belong on a separate layer, not loose against the device.
- The compliance panel is longer than for a liquid, and it still has to fit.
What is left for the brand
After the warning panel, the compliance marks, the batch and volume, and whatever the market restricts about imagery, the space genuinely available for design is often a single face.
That is a real constraint and it favors restraint — one strong mark, good stock, a proper finish. Trying to fit a full brand story into what remains is how these packs end up illegible.
