What the sticker has to stick to
This is the question that decides everything else, and it is the one most orders skip. Adhesive that grips smooth coated board will not hold on rough kraft. Adhesive rated for room temperature will let go inside a chilled cabinet. Anything going on a curved surface smaller than about 30 mm across needs a flexible face material or it will lift at the edges.
Tell us the surface, the temperature and whether it will get wet. Those three answers pick the material, and the material is most of the price.

Sheets, rolls and singles
If a person is peeling these by hand all day, ask for a small unprinted lift tab on the die-cut. It sounds trivial and it saves hours across a run.
- Sheets. Cheapest to produce, fine for hand application in small numbers.
- Rolls. Necessary above a few hundred a day, and essential for any applicator machine. Roll direction and core size have to be specified.
- Singles. Individually cut, mostly for giveaways and inserts rather than production.
Die-cut, kiss-cut and why the difference matters
A kiss cut goes through the face material and leaves the backing whole — that is what makes a sheet a sheet, and what makes a roll run through a machine. A full die cut goes through everything, giving you a loose sticker shaped exactly like the artwork.
Kiss cutting is standard and cheap. Full die cutting costs more and is only worth it when the sticker is a product in its own right, sold or given away rather than applied to a pack.
Any shape with a point thinner than about 3 mm will tear when peeled. Round the tips slightly and nobody will notice.
Printed tape is a sticker that is 66 meters long
Custom sealing tape turns a plain corrugated box into a branded one for a fraction of what printing the box costs, and it does the sealing job at the same time. On a plain brown shipper it is easily the highest-impact spend per pound available.
Two things to get right: the tape has to be strong enough to actually close the box — paper tape for recyclability, polypropylene for strength — and the repeat length has to suit the box, or your logo will be cut in half on every carton. Finishes, and one that is not decorative
Matte laminate is writable with a ballpoint, which matters for anything a warehouse fills in by hand. Gloss laminate is not. That is a functional difference, not an aesthetic one, and it catches people out on address and batch labels.
Beyond that: gloss lifts color, matte reads as considered, soft-touch feels expensive on a seal sticker, and clear stock disappears on a white box and looks dirty on a kraft one.
