Custom Paper Cookie Boxes

Cookies are not heavy, so this is rarely a board strength problem. It is a movement problem: a stack with room to slide arrives as crumbs, and no amount of thicker card fixes what a snug fit would have prevented.

Make the box smaller before making it stronger

Breakage in biscuits comes from the stack shifting and the pieces striking each other and the walls. A carton with 2 mm of clearance around a column of cookies transmits far less of an impact into the biscuits than a stronger box with 15 mm of empty space.

That also makes the pack cheaper. Sizing down is the rare fix that costs less than the problem it solves.

Once the box has to be kept rather than carried home, the rigid version with a tray is where it goes.

Headspace above the stack is where the energy comes from. Fill it, or remove it by shortening the box.

Decorated cookies need a different answer

A decorated cookie is bought on its decoration, and set icing chips against a neighbour far more easily than against board. No two decorated pieces should be able to touch.

The carton is not what keeps them crisp

Folding board is not a moisture barrier and biscuits soften in humidity within days. For any dated shelf life the crispness comes from a sealed inner bag, with the printed carton as the outer.

Selling same-day at a market or a counter, an unlined carton is entirely reasonable — the shelf-life reasoning is in our cookie packaging notes.

Windows on a home-made look

  • Irregularity is the selling point on an artisan bake, and a window proves it.
  • A filmed window keeps a barrier and fogs on anything boxed before it has cooled.
  • An open die-cut is fine on a same-day product and shortens shelf life on a dated one.
  • A window with a sealed inner bag behind it gives you both, for a little more.

Butter reaches the outside

A high-butter biscuit will grease uncoated board within days in a warm shop, and the mark shows through to the printed face where it reads as damage.

Grease-resistant food-grade board handles it. A paper case or a base pad does the same for less on a gift build, and can be changed without changing the box.

Frequently asked questions

Got a question about paper cookie boxes? The answers below cover what we get asked most. If yours is not here, send it with a brief, message us on WhatsApp, or call +1 503-461-4788 — we reply the same working day.

My cookies arrive broken — thicker board?

Usually a smaller box instead. Movement and headspace cause breakage far more often than a weak carton.

Will the box keep them crisp?

No. Board is not a moisture barrier. A sealed inner bag gives shelf life; the carton does the printing.

How do I pack decorated cookies?

Individual wells or a divided tray. Set icing chips against a neighbouring cookie far more easily than against board.

Why is there a dark patch on the carton?

Butter reaching the outer face. Grease-resistant stock, or a case or base pad under the bake.

What is the minimum order?

100 boxes, plain or windowed.

Open window or filmed for cookies?

Open on a same-day product; filmed with a sealed inner behind it on anything with a dated shelf life.
