An interior that does not catch

Raw die-cut edges on paperboard are sharp enough to pull a thread from lace. A lingerie box gets a laminated or coated inner face so the surface is smooth, folded edges where the garment touches rather than cut ones, and a tissue liner as the last layer between board and fabric. On a rigid box the wrap paper does that job; on a carton we specify a coated board and turn the edges in.

Discreet on the outside

For a box that ships, the outside should be plain or carry only the brand name: no product name, no imagery, and a shipping label that says the same. Where a store box goes in a store bag, the exterior can carry more. Most lingerie brands run a discreet mailer and a fuller retail box; the mailer construction we use for that is the one on our underwear boxes with a plain exterior page, and the lingerie box goes inside it.

A soft-touch black box with a blind emboss is the category's signal of quality and shows nothing to anyone who does not know the brand.

Closures, and the reveal

Tissue is not an extra here; it is the last surface the garment touches. We supply it cut to the box and in a brand color.

  • A ribbon tied across a two-piece lid — the classic, and it makes the opening an event.
  • A magnetic flap lid on a rigid box, for a bridal or gift set.
  • A lift-off lid with a tissue reveal, where the tissue is folded so the garment shows through as the lid comes off.
  • A drawer with a ribbon pull, which shows the garment as a flat layer.

Sizing to a fold

A bra is folded cup into cup and sits about 2 in deep; a brief folds to a small flat square; a set together needs a box about 10 × 8 × 2.5 in. A slip or a robe has far more fabric and needs the depth. We size the box to the folded set, not to the garment size, and the same shallow-box logic as our boutique boxes for folded garments applies, with the smoother interior added.

Frequently asked questions

Got a question about lingerie boxes? The answers below cover what we get asked most. If yours is not here, send it with a brief, message us on WhatsApp, or call +1 503-461-4788 — we reply the same working day.

Will the box snag the fabric?

No. The inner face is coated or laminated, the edges the garment touches are folded rather than cut, and a tissue liner sits between board and fabric.

Can the outside be plain?

Yes, and for a box that ships it should be — brand name only, no product name or imagery, and a label that says the same.

What size for a bra and brief set?

About 10 × 8 × 2.5 in, folded cup into cup with the brief beside it. Send us your fold and we size to it.

Do you supply the tissue?

Yes, cut to the box and in a brand color. It is the last surface the garment touches.

Can I have a satin lining?

Yes, on a rigid box, for a bridal or gift set. It is glued to a tray inside the box.

Ribbon or magnet?

Ribbon for the classic reveal on a two-piece box; a magnetic flap for a rigid gift set that is opened more than once.

Does it ship flat?

The carton version does. Rigid boxes ship assembled.

Can I ship the box on its own?

Inside a plain mailer, yes. The lingerie box is presentation; the mailer takes the courier and says nothing.

Soft-touch black or a color?

Black with a blind emboss is the category signal. A brand color with a foil logo works as well; both read as quality.

What is the minimum order?

100 boxes per size. Cartons run many-up on a sheet; rigid boxes are hand-wrapped.

How long does production take?

It depends on the build and the finish. We give a date with the quote rather than a number before we have seen the spec.

Will you send a sample?

A white sample so you can fold a set into it and check that nothing catches before print.
