Where the six corners are

A four-corner tray glues at each corner of the base. A six-corner tray adds two more glue points on the long walls, which lets the walls fold inward flat and spring back square. The result is a tray with a rigid rim that holds its shape with weight in it, and a flat pack that stores in a fraction of the space of an assembled tray.

Board and the rim

Our tuck boxes in every style cover the closed cartons the six-corner tray sits alongside.

  • 18–24pt boxboard for retail and bakery trays.
  • E flute for produce, catering and anything over a kilogram.
  • A rolled or doubled rim on deeper trays for stiffness.
  • Food-grade and grease-resistant board where the product touches the tray.

Lids, sleeves and domes

A six-corner tray is open. It takes a separate six-corner lid, a printed sleeve that slides over, a clear PET dome for a cake, or a film overwrap on a line. The lid is a second six-corner tray a little larger, and the pair stack. Each is quoted with the tray.

The pop-open works because the corners are glued at the factory. The tray cannot be shipped as a flat blank for gluing on site.

Regular Six Corner Boxes in an alternative colorway

The outside walls carry the brand; the inside is plain or printed away from the food. A tray under a clear dome is printed on the inside base too, because that is what is seen. Full color on coated board or one color on kraft.

Frequently asked questions

Got a question about regular six corner boxes? The answers below cover what we get asked most. If yours is not here, send it with a brief, message us on WhatsApp, or call +1 503-461-4788 — we reply the same working day.

How does a six-corner box open?

It arrives flat with the corners glued. Squeeze the long sides and it pops open square with the walls locked.

What is the difference from a four-corner tray?

Two extra glue points on the long walls, which let the tray fold flat and spring back square. A four-corner tray is glued open.

Does it come with a lid?

On request: a six-corner lid, a sleeve, a clear dome or an overwrap, quoted with the tray.

Is it food safe?

In food-grade and grease-resistant board, yes, with food-safe inks and a plain interior.

What is the minimum order?

100 trays.

Can it hold weight?

Yes, on E flute with a doubled rim, for produce and catering.

Can the inside be printed?

Yes, the inside base under a clear dome, where it is seen.

Does it stack?

Assembled trays stack; with a matching lid, the pair stacks.

Can I have it as a flat blank to glue myself?

No. The pop-open depends on factory gluing.

What sizes are possible?

From a small gift-set base to a large catering platter. Send the product and we size the tray.

Kraft or white?

Kraft with one color for bakery and produce; white for full color retail.

Do you ship outside the US?

Yes, to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, quoted in the delivery currency.
