Board that carries a platter flat

A loaded platter box weighs two to four kilograms and bows if the base is light. E flute or B flute with a white liner, a doubled rim, and a base with locked corners carries it flat; a grease-resistant liner where the food touches. Lids are a clear PET dome or a matching board lid, and they lock so the stack in the van does not slide. Our food trays for every service cover the smaller formats.

Stacking and carrying

  • A stacking lip on the lid, so the box above sits square and does not crush the food below.
  • Hand holes or a handle on sharing boxes.
  • A flat base with locked corners that does not open under weight.
  • Vents where hot food travels, sealed where cold food does.

Presentation on the table

A catering box is opened on a table in front of guests, so the inside is the presentation: a printed inside base, a divider that shows each item, a lid that lifts off and goes away. The outside carries the caterer's brand and a panel for the contents and the allergen sheet. Full color on the white liner, food-safe inks, a plain surface where food sits.

Allergen information travels with the box. A printed panel or a slot for the card on the lid is reserved on the dieline.

Caterers, delis and the daily order

Caterers use a few hundred boxes a week in three or four formats. They ship flat in cases of 50 or 100 and fold at the kitchen bench; PET lids nest separately. The dies are kept and a new lunch menu is a card, not a box.
