Custom Hair Extension Boxes
Hair does not break, crush or leak. It tangles, creases at a fold, and loses the pattern it was styled with — and every one of those happens because of how the pack made it sit, not because of anything that happened to the box.

Let it lie in its natural curve
A bundle folded sharply to fit a box keeps that crease, and on straight hair it is visible for a long time. A curved or wavy pattern folded against itself comes out of the pack flattened where the fold was.
That is why so much of this category is packed in long, shallow boxes and pillow packs rather than compact cubes. The box is larger than it needs to be on purpose, and the extra board costs far less than a returned bundle.
Coil rather than fold where length forces the issue. A wide loose coil marks far less than a crease.

Formats, and what each protects
| Pillow box | Curved ends let a bundle lie in a gentle arc; the category default |
|---|---|
| Long flat carton | Full length, no fold at all; the safest and the most expensive to post |
| Window carton | Shows color and texture, which is most of the purchase |
| Wig box with an internal form | Holds the cap shape; without it a wig collapses |
| Sleeve over a poly bag | Cheapest; relies entirely on the bag for protection |

Color is the purchase, and the box gets in the way
The usual compromise is a window on the front with the bundle wrapped in tissue behind it, so the color is visible and the hair is not exposed to handling. A wig box built around an internal form solves the same problem for a cap.
- Shade matching is the single biggest cause of returns in this category.
- A window shows the real hair, which no printed swatch can match.
- Printed shade numbers on the pack help only if they match your own chart exactly.
- Light through a window fades some processed colors over months on a shelf.

Wigs need a form, not just a box
A wig without internal support collapses into a flat oval and creases at the cap edge. An internal form — even a simple die-cut card dome — keeps the cap shape and lets the wig be shown as it will be worn.
That form also makes the box larger, which matters for posting. It is the same clearance-over-compression argument as in our garment packaging notes, with a stiffer product.

What buyers look for on the pack
Length, weight in grams, texture or curl pattern, origin, and whether it can be colored or heat-styled. These are technical purchases and the buyer usually knows exactly which of those numbers they need.
Print length and weight large, on a face and on the short edge — these are stocked in stacks and drawers where the edge is what gets read.

Frequently asked questions
Got a question about hair extension boxes? The answers below cover what we get asked most. If yours is not here, send it with a brief, message us on WhatsApp, or call +1 503-461-4788 — we reply the same working day.
Why does the hair have a crease?
It was folded to fit. Use a longer or curved pack, or coil it loosely — a fold sets and stays visible.
Do I need a window?
It is the most effective thing you can do about shade returns. No printed swatch matches real hair.
Why do my wigs arrive flat?
No internal form. Even a simple die-cut card dome holds the cap shape and stops the edge creasing.
What should be printed largest?
Length and weight, on the face and the short edge. These are stocked in stacks where the edge is read.
What is the minimum order?
100 boxes, any format.
Will light through a window fade the hair?
Some processed colors fade over months on a shelf. Wrap the bundle in tissue behind the window.
