Food cones by what goes in them

A hot, greasy fill needs a heavier, grease-resistant board and a cone that does not go soft in the hand. A dry fill can be lighter.

Board and grease, honestly

Fries and churros leave a mark on any paper within minutes. A grease-resistant face — built into the sheet, not a PFAS treatment — keeps the mark inside the board for the life of the cone, which is about ten minutes. Heavier board delays it further. A standard coated white board with no grease resistance spots through in the hand and is the reason a cheap cone feels cheap.

Say what goes in the cone and how hot. Popcorn and fries want different boards, and the quote states which.

Close detail of the print finish on cone shaped

A cone is printed flat as a sector and rolled, so the design lands on a curve. A repeating pattern, a logo at the top edge, or a color band works; a straight line spirals and a centered logo appears twice. Full color on coated board, one color on kraft, food-contact inks on anything that holds food.

Filling, holding and serving

Cones are rolled and held in a cone stand or a rack at the counter, filled from the top and handed over. A die-cut tray with holes holds a dozen at a time; a single-cone stand suits a market stall. Both are made from the same board and are quoted with the cones.

Frequently asked questions

Got a question about cone shaped? The answers below cover what we get asked most. If yours is not here, send it with a brief, message us on WhatsApp, or call +1 503-461-4788 — we reply the same working day.

What foods suit a cone?

Fries, churros, popcorn, crepes, nuts, candy and ice cream cones in a sleeve. Anything held in one hand and eaten from the top.

Will grease come through?

Not on the grease-resistant board we use for hot or oily fills. It is built into the sheet, not a PFAS treatment.

Are the cones food safe?

Yes, in the food-grade version with food-contact inks, which is what we run for any cone that holds food.

Do they arrive rolled?

Either as flat sectors you roll and glue, or pre-glued flat cones that open into shape. Pre-glued is faster at a busy counter.

Can I have a stand for the cones?

Yes, a tray of holes for a dozen or a single-cone stand, made from the same board and quoted with the cones.

What is the minimum order?

100 cones.

Can the tip be vented for fries?

Yes, a small cut at the tip lets steam out so the fries stay crisp.

How is the print placed?

On the flat sector, which we show on the dieline. Patterns and top-edge logos work; straight lines spiral when rolled.

Kraft or white board?

Kraft with one color for a natural counter; coated white for full color. Both are available grease-resistant.

Can you make a wide cone for flowers?

Yes, a shallow wide cone that holds a bouquet upright in a display, in a heavier board.

Do you send a dieline?

Yes, with the quote, showing the sector and any vents or holes.

Do you ship outside the US?

Yes, to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, quoted in the delivery currency.
